MEET THE WIVES OF CANDIDATES IN A REPUBLICAN PARTY RUN-OFF IN LIBERTY COUNTY

Meet and Greet the Wives of the Candidates
by Gayle Coleman
You’ve met the candidates running for office. Now you have an opportunity to find out more about the candidates through their wives and to get to know the “better halves” of the candidates.

The Liberty County Republican Women will host a Meet and Greet on Tuesday, May 13, starting at 5 pm to meet the wives of Republican candidates who are in the run-off or who will be running against a Democratic challenger come November. All wives have been invited. Those definitely coming at this date are Roxanne Babin, Kathy Streusand, Jan Knight, Martha Brown, and Amanda Wilson.

There will be a Meet and Greet (social hour with the wives) from 5 - 6 pm on Tuesday, May 13 at Judge Graves Courtroom in Dayton. Light food will be served. Starting at 6 pm, you will be introduced to each of the wives and hear them give a brief talk about themselves and what they do when they are not on the campaign trail. There will be time for a few questions. After that, the Liberty County Republican Women will hold a brief monthly meeting. Everyone, including men, is encouraged to attend and think about joining this active group of women.

KNIGHT SIGNS UP WHILE MCNAIRS RECOVER

The head on collision that County Judge Craig McNair and his wife Lisa survived will not gain a even a short cease fire with his opponent. Despite attending the same church, Jay Knight has decided not to delay campaigning while Craig and Lisa McNair convalesce.

It is not required, but sometimes you will see campaigns suspend activity, or at least certain kinds of overt activity, when other candidates are experiencing a tragedy. It is obvious by the sudden resurrection of Jay Knight’s campaign signs that Craig McNair will not receive that consideration - an indication to those of us who do not live in Dayton that this may be a very personal race with hard feelings and possibly motivations that the rest of us are unaware of. One thing for sure, any hope and change expected before now should be marred by this reaction to this accident. It is unfortunate that an otherwise very likable person has taken politics to heart. Most of us will be glad when this race is over.

Lisa McNair has had at least three serious surgeries and Craig has spent all ofhis time by her side and dealing with the difficulties being a victimof a head on cause.

BEN STREUSAND: PINOCCHIO PRETENDING TO BE REAGAN

When Ben Streusand’s Clinton-like “research team” left Brian Babin’s hometown after spending two weeks looking for anything they could find to demonize their opponent, voters will be pleased to know they found NOTHING. Notice I said pleased. Not surprised. Babin has been one of the most popular conservative candidate’s ever to put his name on a ballot in East Texas. Voters know him and like him and trust him.

The facts did not deter Streusand’s decision to sling mud and try to overcome the fact he did not actually live in this district,  Taxes were raised thirty years ago and Babin was on the board that voted unanimously to raise them. Streusand knew the rest of the story because his team knew it. But he left out that everyone in Woodville’s position raised taxes to adjust to the mandates in the Robin Hood plan the Supreme Court of Texas had upheld.

Streusand blindsides Babin with this and filmed his response to a vote that was cast three decades ago. He thinks this makes Babin look bad. Well I hope voters don’t send this kind of person to Washington D.C. thinking this kind of tactics will work up there. Streusand will be ripped to shreads if he tries this amateur debate stuff in Congress. Just like in this case, someone will look back and see what actually happened. Channel 12 did. Babin was a tax cutter and acted and voted like all conservatives did in Texas with the circumstances of that time.

Streusand says he would have done differently. But had he decided to vote as he said and had he influenced enough others to do the same …… there is no question it would have cost Woodville taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars. The highest court in the land had already ruled on Robin Hood.

It is highly unlikely Streusand would have voted as he says he would have however. Records reveal a younger Streusand had other similarities with Clinton (besides his opposition research/hit team). Besides working as a staffer for Democrats, court records from a filing for a divorce indicate he may have had Monica-like problems.

So in the midst of his Democrat brethren and a swinging life style, Ben Streusand would have taken on this expensive issue? No. He would not have been elected and he never has been elected to represent conservatives anywhere at anytime. Ben Streusand was fortunate to patch up a marriage he all but destroyed and he was out seeking his fortune. A fortune he would accumulate through taking advantage of Dodd-Frank and what has become known as the home loan debacle. He has no record in office and the record he does have is one that most people would not put out there in front of their neighbors.

The last district Streusand tried to purchase his congressional seat in rejected him 2 to 1 on election day. If people that know his history don’t vote this time, we will have someone in Washington who will be working for himself – not us. Please vote May 27th.

WANT TO KNOW MORE?  www.thelibertycourier.com

UPDATE : Streusand responds by changing the accusation. Now he says it is not that Babin raised taxes like I said he did. Now he says that Babin should be held responsible for the board not adjusting the effective rate. Do you even know how these boards work Ben? Aim your mudslinging better Ben. When you did this against Mike McCaul it wore voters out and you lost by 30%.

Is every citizen who served on a school board in the 1990’s that lived in a district that did not restore the 20% homestead exemption provided by the CEDs automatically less conservative than citizens that have no record of serving at all? It may seem like splitting hairs, but no one individual raised taxes by failing to restore the exemption. That particular governing body failed. Individuals within that governing body may or may not have been for restoration. And they may or may not have been for restoration based on how the mandate effected the school district’s resources and student needs and community preferences. Brian Babin was elected and re-elected easily. Why does Ben Streusand’s recode of a lack of  community service so predictably result in him hiring people to dig up dirt and create spin from records twenty and thirty years old?

STREUSAND SHOWS HIS OBNOXIOUS ARROGANT SIDE AS HE INSULTS THE DISTRICT HE SAYS HE WILL MOVE TO IF HE WINS

BEN STREUSAND GREED
In a shocking introduction to at least 8 out of the 9 counties in congressional district 36, Be n Streusand, the candidate who placed a distant second in the primary, has repeatedly insulted the entire district. All we can assume is Streusand is using attention getting techniques he has learned in his time on the radio to get name recognition, since he has refused to change his inflammatory rhetoric toward the voters.

The “technique” that gained him 16% of the votes in the 2014 Republican primary is to insult the voters that live in the district and possibly appeal to Democrats who have flocked to vote in the Republican primary in rural counties and perhaps to use a different method in Harris County. The candidate who had twice as many votes as Streusand in the district clobbered him by even more in 8 out of 9 counties. Since his opponent is so popular in these counties, it is thought Streusand is trying to appeal to all of the democrats who are voting in the Republican primary so they can have a say in contested races. Streusand seems to assume they will try and defeat the largest vote getter of the Republican primary so the democrat will have more of a chance in the general election.

What has Streusand said in rural counties that is so insulting it has gained a great deal of attention by those who normally pay little attention to election time rhetoric? In at least thirty different events where Streusand has spoken in a rural county he has explained to voters that the reason he is running is “there is no one in this district that is capable of doing what needs to be done”.

Of course, that comment is an insult to everyone who will be voting in the district, but it did not stop 2 out of his 11 opponents in the primary from endorsing him. 8 of the other 9 have endorsed Briabn Babin and one has not endorsed. The two who have endorsed the man that has told us all that no one was capable in the district of doing the job evidently have made Streusand’s extensive payroll or they regretted thinking they were good enough to run for congress.

Another version of Streusand’s insult to the district voters is that “No one living in this district has the intestinal fortitude to do what it will take in Washington”. No one here knows for sure whether Streusand used this technique when he ran in his own district and voters rejected him despite him spending millions of dollars in a losing effort. It is believed he has a different less insulting message for voters in Harris County and that they will never hear what he has said over and over again in the rural counties. Though we disagree with his strategy if he thinks the tremendous increase in democrats voting in rural county primaries will yield an effort to defeat who they think is the most difficult candidate for Democrats to beat (Brian Babin, the overwhelming winner in the primary), it is an unusual tactic.

When a top Streusand staffer was confronted about the insults, he eventually responded that he has tried for weeks to get his candidate to drop that kind of language. “He just won’t listen”. That description of Streusand from his own team makes me think he may not listen to us voters either.

I guess it is live by the sword die by the sword. Streusand has never held elective office and touts his experience in debating a radio audience as his example of unyielding courage that is needed in Washington. The difference may be the voters do not go away when the next caller calls in and a congressman does not have an “on” and “off” switch. In fact, this kind of shocking statement may be good for radio ratings but we seriously doubt the people in the Harris County portion of this district are as impressed with Ben Streusand as Streusand says they are.

Or perhaps the fact that his opponent in this primary enetered at the last moment and Streusand did not change planned speeches after a more experienced candidate joined the race.

Check out the following youtube videos and listen to a resident of CD 36. And next time you see Ben Streusand tell him he is wrong about where we live. the people in CD 36 are hard working Texans and we have more than enough good candidates than to have to import a slick talking mortgage banker from that brags that he has always lived in the big city.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxnxAaQmu1I

At least Hillary moved to New York BEFORE she ran for Congress and she had not lost elsewhere like Streusand did in CD 10. CD 36 is a district full of strong Texans. we do not need to import candidates. As the primary results indicated, Streusand is not the strongest candidate in this field any more than he was in CD 10 when he ran there 2 years ago.

(Updated) COUNTY JUDGE CRAIG MCNAIR AND WIFE LISA LIFE FLIGHTED TO HERMANN

Liberty County Judge Craig McNair and his wife, Lisa were the victims of a drunk driver in a head-on crash just down the street from the McNair home at 12:15 a.m. this morning. Liberty Sheriff Department’s report says the couple were sent to Houston’s Hermann Hopsital by Life Flight in stable condition with undetermined injuries.

According to sheriff department’s Sgt. Joel Davila, the wreck occurred in the 800 block of CR 603 in South Liberty County just north of US 90. Davila indicated Judge McNair was northbound on CR 603 driving his 2012 GMC vehicle when a southbound 2007 Ford Expedition driven by German Mata, 17, crossed over into Judge McNair’s lane and struck his vehicle head-on. Mata’s vehicle was equipped with flashing red and blue lights. No reason has been theorized as to why he had these lights on.  Mata did leave the scene and went to a nearby house.

When the responding agencies arrived on the scene, Edgar Mata, 21, the brother of German Mata, was on the scene and claiming to be responsible for the accident.

According to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office’s report, Edgar was attempting to take responsibility for the accident caused by his brother, German, who had fled the scene after the crash to his home approximately one mile away. A family member reportedly had driven Edgar to the scene.

When these facts were discovered during the on-scene investigation, Sgt. Davila and Deputy John Bennett of the LCSO, and Dayton Police Officers Siebeurt and Officer Hart went to the Mata home located at 2313 CR 603 and detained German Mata who was found asleep in his bed. The attempt to cover up drunk driving was spoiled when Judge McNair still suffering from the impact and concerned about Lisa noticed that the man at the scene was not the man that had caused the calamity.

German was later turned over to Trooper Godfrey who filed charges on both of the Mata brothers. At this time there is no known reason as to why German Mata was running his vehicle with “red and blue” lights on his vehicle. According to the sheriff’s office report, he had just purchased and installed them a few days prior. Mata was found to have only minor injuries that did not require any treatment.

According to Sgt. Davila, Edgar Mata, was charged with Making a False Report to a Peace Officer and with Public Intoxication. His brother and actual driver of the striking vehicle, German Mata, was charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid, Improper use of Red and Blue Lights and No Texas Driver’s License. Both brothers were placed in the Liberty County jail and will go before a magistrate later.

(Update) Concerned citizens are asked to pray for Craig and Lisa and the girls today. Head on collisions are traumatic. The extent of internal injuries is still unknown. This kind of head on collision has been known to have all kinds of physical and psychological effects. The added drama caused by the Mata's will be an ongoing news item.
Judge McNair reported that he is bruised and very sore and with some cuts but no broken bones. Mrs. McNair suffered the most external injuries with a broken leg, some broken fingers and cuts. Lisa McNair has undergone surgery for the broken leg.

WILL "THE PARTY" IN HOUSTON AND OUTSIDERS CHOOSE TEXAS' REPUBLICAN NOMINEE FOR PRESIDENT?

Right now, the most striking thing about the public polling on the 2016 Republican nomination for President isn’t just the absence of a clear frontrunner: It’s the absence of a clear pair or trio or even a quartet of frontrunners. Republicans have no idea who they will choose. Or do they?  Some may know. The Republican establishment often secures the race for their favorite. Rural counties and grassroots are often left to choose between a Democrat they can’t stand and a Republican who is so moderate the difference i s too slim for many. The Republican establishment’s money and their ability to generate all kinds of endorsements and media buzz has chosen candidates in the past. Grassroots voters have watched as their candidate either gets very little press or he is buried under a pile of falsehoods.
The latest Iowa Republican Presidential poll has Mike Huckabee in the pole position with eleven percent, and then eight (!) others are bunched between six and ten percent. The path that every post-1970s Republican primary campaign has ultimately taken, in which a candidate who seems reasonably electable, performs well with “moderate conservative” primary voters and wins the blessing of the party’s donor class successfully buries challengers that have been more popular with the grassroots before the Presidential politics started.
Houston’s elite political class has a nack for picking one of their own and for even garnering support from enough of the grassroots to win.
Grassroots voters, usually about 15%, almost always regret going along with the powers that be, but it is usually too late when they finally see that they have listened to the wrong “information”.

SHAMEFUL DECEPTION BY STREUSAND IN CD 36 RACE

The race for Congressional District 36 is turning out to be a real doozie! It has a man that has no record in elected office or community-mindedness versus a man with thirty years of serving his community. The man with no record has spent his adult life working every angle and every advantage in the banking industry and, as a result, has rolled up quite a nice egg to run for office. The man with all of the hard work in his community has never been paid a dime for his work in the community or for time in elective office, but he has been a successful dentist and has a wonderful family that includes nine grandchildren. The banker has documented his experience and it is with a the microphone as an occasional guest at a local radio station. The dentist took his conservative Republican beliefs and jumped in the arena years ago. While the banker was thinking about changing from Democrat to Republican, the dentist was working hard for Ronald Reagan. And while the banker was entertaining people as a guest on the radio the dentist was taking on Congressional Democrats as he ran for state representative as a Republican when there were no Republicans in this part of Texas. The dentist was a champion for southeast Texas Republicans as he won counties that had not voted Republican in a century. His willingness to take on the liberals helped build the local parties that now dominate the area.

Sound like a mismatch? It gets worse. The banker has a history of running campaigns, dirty campaigns, against Republicans in district he does not even live in. Mortgage banker Ben Streusand had millions of dollars in his campaign coffers and used it attacked Mike McCaul, and now he is doing it against Brian Babin, a dentist from Woodville. If you are unsure of what kind of person Ben Streusand is, ask McCaul (since beating Streusand). Congressman McCaul has won his seat in congress five times since surviving Streusand’s multi-million dollar attacks in 2004.
Now Ben Streusand has unleashed a barrage of negative television ads.  They started yesterday in the Beaumont TV market and they falsely accuse Brian Babin of raising taxes exhorbitantly during his terms as mayor and city councilman of the City of Woodville and as a board member of Woodville Independent School District nearly 30 and 20 years ago respectively.
Just like his attacks against Congressman Mike McCaul, it is pure mudslinging from a candidate who has no record and is desperate to buy a seat, any seat (anywhere) in Congress. Please read the enclosed letters from our Tyler County Chief Appraiser and Woodville City Manager stating the truth of these allegations.
As a Mayor and city councilman Babin LOWERED taxes over 70% . Shame on you, Mr. Streusand. You sent a man a team and spent two weeks trying to dig up dirt on Babin in his hometown and you found none. Shame on you for fabricating and deceiving and lying.
As a WISD board member in the early to mid 90’s Babin had to comply with the Equalization or ‘Robin Hood’ legislation forced on Texas schools by the Democratically controlled Texas Legislature at the time. Through it all Babin and Woodville managed to keep taxes down and still provided n excellent education for their students and protected the tax payers of their district. The Robin Hood mandate was ruled unconstitutional by the Texas Supreme Court 2 years later.
Mr. Streusand who doesn’t even live in our district simply doesn’t understand what the leaders and elected officials of East Texas small town and city officials and school boards have to do to provide the basic services for our constituents and students while keeping taxes down.
Mr. Streusand has never held a public office or position in which he has had to balance a budget or make hard decisions.
He lives in Congressional District 10 which runs all the way over to Austin. He has never lived in Congressional District 36 where he suddenly has a desire to represent us in Washington without knowing anything about us.
If you are for a sound fiscal policy, a balanced budget and for repealing Obamacare, and you want gun rights defended and a national defense with secure our borders and you want to push back the socialist Obama policies, vote for Dr. Brian Babin. He will spend his campaign money promoting these values.

STATE REP JOHN OTTO RETIRING?

We have heard the rumor enough times by now to wonder aloud what it will be like if it is true that John Otto will not seek another term as state representative.

First and foremost for me, I would like to congratulate John for a job well done and thank him for making us proud of his public service. Years ago when we knew the tide had turned and that Liberty County would open the floodgates and elect republicans the next election, I called John and asked him to attend the Republican’s state convention. In my mind, he was the best candidate to defeat the democrats and become the first Republican state representative from here in over 100 years. John attended that convention (though it may have been in spite of my invitation rather than because of it). And he did indeed become our state representative.

With John Otto’s first term voters found a public servant that wasn’t just going toAustin to witness what was going on in the state legislature, but rather he was there to make a difference. No matter whether you are a big John Otto fan or not, you have to agree he was not, he was a voice most of the time for conservatives in this area. John’s participation replaced years of the memories of Zeb Zbranek’s echoing his fellow Democrats with his votes and coming home to report what Democrats were doing in the state’s government. Or should I say what they were doing to us through state government. John also replaced the shorter memory of Dan Ellis’ representation which was very much a strattled fence approach to changing politics. Dan seemed to want to be a strong voice for Democrats when they were in power and a strong voice for Republicans when a candidate could no longer win as a democrat. Thanks for running John! Thanks for helping us gain respect for this area and improve the state during your tenure in office.

Of course, with the rise in the fortunes of Republicans in this area, John also did some things he may not have liked but voters should always value. John woke up conservatives in the area to the idea of public service and what could be done in theTexas’ House of Representatives. Therefore, he had challengers. Competition for elected positions offers the voters choices and sometimes deepens the pool from where candidates for all offices come. In John’s case, he defeated both ……. and Terry ……, but the voters gained by this kind of competition. Though challengers to successful incumbents are often labeled out of the mainstream, both these men remain active and worth listening to as the Republican party evolves with time. It is good for Liberty to have the same choices the most active areas in the country have. It is good for our voters to consider the ideas a more libertarian ad more conservative candidate has. John won against these men by healthy margins, but his races were always good for the district.

Looking at John’s record and the things he was focused on in Austin, voters may have not always agreed with him but in the final analysis they gave him a big thumbs up. And if it is true his final days as our representative are numbered, I give the Aggie a big thumbs up too. Thanks John, you done good.

One of the most prized qualities many of us conservatives hold dear in an election, is the freedom to choose among a good field of candidates and the hope that our elected officials will serve with honor and not serve for too long a period of time where it becomes a career. With congratulations to John, here is to the Republican voters in our county: “Congratulations, we are on a roll. Let’s encourage more good talented folks to put their name on the ballot and offer their services. We no longer have to be represented by who the local Democrat elite nominate and we know Republicans do not have a pass the baton mentality. More good times are ahead!

TERRIFYING FACT IN BABIN STREUSAND RACE

Voters in North Harris County: Before you go to the polls in November to elect a U.S. Sate Representative, there is a very real and terrifying fact you simply must know about Brian Babin.

No, it’s not that he’s a dentist instead of a general practitioner (both deal with the horrors of ObamaCare). Or that he worked Ronald Reagan campaign as local and regional chairman (he did…. But some strict libertarians may not like the association) and Ben Streusand was a Democrat then. It’s far more sinister than that. Babin actually lives in the district and the part he lives in is not Harris County (though he will have an easily accessible office for this portion of his constituents). Now that is sinister! Ben Streusand is pitting the eight rural counties of District 36 against those living in the Spring area. And he does not live in any of the areas he thinks will put him over the top on election day (in fact, he has not lived in the last two districts he has run for congress in). This is the same kind of strategy that kept Republicans from winning office years in the past – Babin would already be a Congressman had Democrats not used the same strategy.
Yes, now we are suppose to believe that Babin having lived for more than three decades in Woodville (close to the center of the district), where he’s raised a family, gone to church, shopped at the local stores and paid the car tax is a negative thing. Has the world gone mad?
Do Harris County voters know Babin has many more years debating and actually working in communities to defeat Democrats while Streusand has had a few years as a guests on the radio in there area? Do they know Babin is a popular champion for the rest of the district having actually taken his record in elective office and his contributions to the community and won the popular vote in several of these counties and lost to a democrat because of the same voter segregation scheme Streusand has cooked up?

STREUSAND’S MISUSE OF CAMPAIGN FUNDS

This is two Republican primary elections in a row that Ben Streusand is misusing campaign contributions. Are is he?
It all depends on what all contributors to Republican primary races expect their money to be used for. It reminds me of President Obama’s use of taxpayer money. Is he abusive in the way he spends our money. I submit to you when he has spent a billion dollars trying to make ObamaCare look like it is a popular well constructed national health care plan that is good for this country, that he has, in fact, abused the taxpayers of this nation by spending their money to help him. We would never consent to that amount of money being spent because we all know if the program were that good it could easily be promoted for close to free.
So is Ben Streusand abusing the trust some contributors had in him when they gave him money? What do they expect him to do with that money? Have they expected him to take their money and attack Republicans by mail and radio and television waves? Did people who live in District 10 expect him to take their hard earned money and attack a Republican who lives in their district so he could win a seat in Congress in a place he does not live in? He attacked Mike McCaul exactrly like he has Babin, but Harris County voters turned out for McCaul who is from Austin rather than the sometimes obnoxious Streusand. McCaul won that seat and the people have re-elected him every two years since.
DID HE EXPECT STREUSAND TO USE THEIR MONEY TO INSULT THEM BY SAYING HE RAN AS SOMEONE WHO LIVED OUTSIDE THE DISTRICT BECAUSE THE PEOPLE LIVING INSIDE THE DISTRICT HAD NO ONE CAPABLE OF BEING A CONGRESSMAN? That is what he did there and that is what he is doing in District 36.
It is an abuse of people’s trust. If he were a Democrat or if he were Lois Lerner, it might be understandable. But everywhere Streusand goes he attacks Republicans. Then, from what we understand, he uses a guest speaking spot in the most populated part of the county to declare himself some kind of political giant that will defeat Democrats.
Give me a break! Brian babin is more of a defeater of democrats while Streusand needs to defeat and deflate his own ego and quit using tons of money to beat up on the favorite Republicans in district unfortunate enough to be within his scope.

IS LOCAL MEDIA IN BED WITH NON RESIDENT CANDIDATE

Does HCN, the editors or the owners of The Cleveland Advocate and The Dayton News have some kind of connection with Congressional District 36 candidate Ben Streusand? Streusand is a rich powerful mortgage banker that has thirty years of connections, both Democrat and Republican. And while he definitely is considered the establishment candidate, his opponent, Dr. Brian Babin was the very first grassroot congressional favorite in Liberty County. Why does it seem these papers are pushing Streusand rather than reporting what most people would think is a great controvery – IF they only were told about it.

The controversy is more than the fact that Ben Streusand does not, and never has lived in our district. The controversy is more than Streusand has a history of going in districts that do not have an incumbent and running despite the fact he does not live in the district. The controversy includes the more than thirty times Ben Streusand has stood before people in our district and said he was running here because there was no one here that could do the job. He has also said there is no one living here that has the “intestinal fortitude” to do what needs to be done. All of this is controversial because it comes from a man that has never held elective office, but he has a great deal of money and connections to pay imagemakers and imagebreakers to fool voters about himself and his opponent.

So why is The Cleveland Advocate and The Dayton News writing about three of the former CD36 candidates that have endorsed Streusand when six have endorsed Babin and the public has no knowledge of it from these papers. Is HCN one of Streusand’s “connections”? Will they elect our Congressman?
Why have Dave Norman and Chuck Meyer and Colonel Jim Engstrend backed the man they were running against when he has said so often that they were incapable of doing the job? Why is the endorsement of men that have received so few votes in Liberty County or elsewhere getting such primetime in these papers?

The Liberty Courier wants the people in this area to hear the truth. We want to say things other media will not say. We do not hide our preferences, but we will also not hide the other media’s preferences and strange omissions and deceptions.

The local media is reporting on a Republican primary race with the man was the first Republican to win Liberty County in over one hundred years. Dr. Babin is one of the most popular and most qualified and most endorsed and highly regarded candidates we have ever had. If the local newspapers do not report that Streusand does not live in the district and does not believe “ANYONE” in the district is capable, that is news. That news should be reported over and over and over.

Unless……… these newspapers value their own agenda more than informing the people’s opinions that read their newspapers. Streusand spent over $3 million dollars losing in another district he didn’t live in a few years ago. Great sums of money and Houston insiders want to put Ben Streusand in the Congressional seat that represents Liberty County. The Liberty Courier agrees with a wide range of friends and foes alike in Liberty County who continue to check Babin’s names on their ballots. But it will take a massive effort of Liberty County and the other seven counties that already voted for Babin to beat Streusand and all of his connections and his millions.

PICKETT CLOSING IN ON PARKER'S LONGEVITY RECORD

The relatives of County Court at Law Judge Tommy Chambers are in no danger of losing their place in the City of Liberty record books. Judge Chambers has four relatives that have served as Mayor of Liberty since the town’s beginning in 1873.

Mayor Scott Parker still has a comfortable five year lead over contenders for most years served as Mayor. Scott served from 1980 to 1993. But Carl Pickett is closing in (2006 -  ). After he serves his first year of his new term, Pickett will pass A.J. McCormick (two terms totaling 8 years in the late 1800’s), Dempsie Henley (1960-1968), and Bruce Halstead (1998 – 2006) who chose not to seek re-election after eight years of service.

GOVERNMENT TAKEOVERS AND TEXAS

570 red river curve 610
While the eyes of the nation are focused upon the rural Nevada town of Bunkerville and the Bundy Ranch, another significant land grab is underway in the other half of the country. While less physically confrontational at present, government oppression is none the less at the root of a dispute on the border between Oklahoma and Texas. It’s an on-going process, following the migration of the Red River, which the feds define differently dependent upon their their “needs.”

Tommy Henderson lost a lawsuit thirty years ago and with it 140 acres of his ranchland. The BLM victory resulted in the Oklahoma/Texas border being redrawn a mile to the south of where it had previously been.

Henderson received nothing in exchange for his land. Not one cent, and the BLM is back for more. This time they’ve got their eyes on roughly 90,000 acres. And they are employing similar tactics to what won for them in the eighties.

BLM seeks to use the previous lawsuit as precedent in their attempt to steal land along a 116 mile stretch of the Red River. The natural migration of the Red River is at the heart of the dispute and the opportunity being seized upon by the Feds.

BLM is making a claim that the land never belonged to Texas, which the landowners vehemently dispute.

STREUSAND THEN AND NOW

Like our current President, if you go back twenty years ago in Ben Streusand’s life you would never think there would be any possibility of a rise in political leadership. But Streusand has hidden backers lurking in the shadows that continue to fund bids on Streusand’s behalf as he continues to wait for new election cycles to run in open seats in different districts in Texas. This desperation for a seat, any seat, leads many to wonder who is buying this seat for him.

If you flash back twenty years ago and court records, Streusand appears to be a serial adulterer that is set to go through a nasty divorce. He also is playing on the opposite political team he is today. He is donating big bucks and buddying up to Democrats back in that day. In the 1980’s and 1990’s he is failing to pay his taxes, but since then he has not failed to pay megabucks to computer spinmeisters to bury deep in Google.

But the tide turned against Democrats in Texas and Streusand decided to change colors. He made millions as a mortgage banker during an opportunity in that industry that true conservatives say never should have happened. Streusand doesn’t blink an eye however; he just acts like his knowledge of that industry will be an advantage……. The problem is “the advantage” may be for those in the shadows rather than for voters in southeast Texas.

Streusand tried to erase his past with his wife and with Democrats. The couple reconciled (he must be one heckuva an apologizer when he finally comes clean!). He even became the head of large and effective Republican group. He also became a regular on talk radio. But like Obama, he has never held elective office. He is best known for talking. He is a rich man that has richer men backing him. He buys election help and has a record for attacking the grassroots’ choice. He uses his Houston connections to make him appear to be the Tea Party choice……. Insiders’ money to appeal to people who consider themselves outsiders.

Streusand, like Obama, in many ways has really not changed from then to now. Streusand is still looking out for Streusand. He does what he has to do to make money and he will do what he has to do to win a seat in the House. His high pitched, effeminate voice knows the right buttons to push on the radio. His imagemakers have had to work on what he says on the campaign trail. They want him to tone down his arrogance and attack his opponent. But like Obama, he just can’t stop it. No more than he can stop that slight tilt he has when he thinks he is being brilliant – his nose tilted upwards, and his arrogance filling the air.

Why is some of this relevant? It shouldn't be. It wouldn't be. His opponent primary races against  Republicans with class and the races have all been repsectful.   But his opponent also has had years of going into counties where evry official was a democrat and laying out the case for conservative leadership/ Streusand's imagemakers have lied and acted like he has been at this for years and he has had to go in other becuase nobody there has his years of experince. The fact is Dr. Babin blazed the trail in this area for Republicans by his articulate tough face to face debate with Democrats when Streusand was on their side. Streusand came along when it was popular and debated on the radio. he claims he is the man that has been in the arena. If Dr. Babin won't brag on himself and he won't point out how deceptive this man is, we will.

Voters found out just in time to spank Streusand at the polls in district 10 and we need to spread the word now. We don't need imagemakers electing any more community organizers and rich mortgage bankers……. ELECTION DAY MAY 27

BEN STREUSAND GREED- Who should get the blame for subprime fiasco?

STREUSAND: FOR THE LOVE OF MONEY

At a time when millions of Americans have lost their homes, and millions more are upside down, and may yet lose their homes, and with several thousand of these people in Texas’s 36th Congressional District, Why is it that Ben Streusand feels that he deserves a seat in Congress after profiting from the mortgage collapse? Seems to me like he ought to be doing another kind of serving time.
Be aware of who you vote for, there are issues at stake that we cannot afford to risk on someone with Ben Streusand’s troubled past.

Pinochio Pretends to be Reagan

A DESPERATE STREUSAND JOINS DEMOCRAT IRS LOIS LERNER

It is a political year and though the public has grown weary of it, the public is also use to wild-eyed crazy attacks during this time. But who would have ever guessed Ben Streusand, the second place finisher in the race for congressional district 36 , would be desperate enough to use one of Lois Lerner’s “investigations to attack a Republican?
Ben Streusand was set to only have one big mark against him when he signed up to run for the congressional race in district 36, but he felt confident he could use his contacts in Houston to make himself look like a candidate widely supported in a district that he does not live in. He felt confident people in Harris county would not care where a candidate lived.
Whether that is true or not, Streusand was not aware that someone who was more experienced with conservative credentials that lived in the district would sign up to run in the last days before the deadline.
Streusand immediately turned to consultants and a fat wallet to start shooting down Dr. Brian Babin when he saw he no longer was the favored candidate by voters. His researchers took votes having to do with local government and told the voters to beware of Babin he was a big government politician. But when he discovered voters knew Dr. Babin and they did not fall for Streusand’s political tricks, the Streusand people decided to risk using information they should have never mentioned.
Streusand’s people are warning the public about Babin’s problem with his last campaign and an investigation that ended with a heavy fine. Two huge problems with this distortion of truth, The first problem is Babin was not found guilty. But the second problem is huge for Streusand and it is likely why he has not instructed his people to push this distortion too hard until just before the election.
The problem is that voters will find out LOIS LERNER was the person in charge of the so called “investigation.”: Lois Lerner is the IRS witch who has been hunting down conservatives and using her office to throw mud on conservatives for years. Recent news reports indicate she will be found in contempt of Congress and possibly face criminal charges for some of her most recent activities.
Why has Ben Streusand joined the democrats is a question easy to answer. Ben Streusand wants to be a representative in Congress and nothing ……. I mean nothing, including where he lives or the truth about honorable conservative patriots will stop him. Only the voters can stop Ben Streusand.

STREUSAND IN ATTACK MODE

1. In his first race (in a different district) Ben Streusand, of Houston, gave his campaign $3.25 million. His spending per vote cast in one race was $500 if. It was the most money spent by any one individual running for Congress that year.  It was Obamaesque.

2. Since both, Streusand and his opponent, now Congressman McCaul of district 10, promised t bedrock Rhe voters Republican values, promising to defend the nation's borders, get government out of the way of business, cut federal spending and work to ban abortion - Streusand went very negative to try and smear McCaul. HIn the end voters didn't trust Streusand and he was beat nearly 2 to 1 because voters rejected his smear tactics and t.hey smelled his distortions. He had not paid his own taxes in the 80's and 90's but he wanted to speak as an expert on taxes. He wanted to question his opponent trustworthiness when questions about his educational background and his claims of being a vet lingered in the air.

3. McCaul blamed Streusand for a campaign that has "spiraled into one of the most negative, nasty campaigns the state of Texas has ever seen. The truth will prevail at the end of the day," McCaul said. "Good will prevail over evil, and it's time for this negative campaign to stop."

4. McCaul has been forced to spend much of his time and some of his money responding and reminding GOP voters that Streusand, who has given more than $500,000 to Republican candidates and causes, made contributions to two Democrats, former U.S. Rep. Ken Bentsen and former U.S. Sen. Bob Krueger.

5. Streusand's commercials note that McCaul worked in the Justice Department under President Clinton. The spot does not mention that McCaul was a nonpolitical appointee who began at the agency when the first President Bush, who is endorsing him, was in office.

6. Streusand is doing the same type thing to the highly revered and honorable Dr. Brian Babin.
He has spent millions hiding his past and he has never held elective office. His experts have spent hours rigging the internet to spit out what they want voters to think about Streusand and about Obama. Hpeople to figure any angle they can to make conservatives reject his opponents and choose him. He has had unflattering stories buried on google and he has enhanced the few  good stories. He has used a small full of powerful people to squelch aid to Babin while, if need be, he has twisted arms to make himself look like he has broad grassroots support.

STREUSAND CAMPAIGN DISTORTING THE TRUTH TO OVERCOME HIS RESIDENCY PROBLEM

Ben Streusand does not live in congressional district 36 and he has said he is running in that district because there is no one there capable of doing the job. He also said he did not know any of the eleven other candidates that signed up to run in the Republican primary. When voters connected the dots and wondered aloud how he could say such a thing if he did not know his opponents or many people in the district, Streusand set himself up to either bow out of a race or have an all out character attack against whoever made a run-off (if he was in a run-off with someone).

When Dr. Brian Babin threw his hat in the ring there was very little doubt who would win 8 of the 9 counties in the district. With his name ID still registering from campaigns in the past when he debated conservative values and philosophy with the ruling Democrats, Babin doubled Streusand’s vote totals. But with twelve candidates in the race, Babin did not get enough votes to avoid a run off.

Without hesitation, Streusand sent staff to Babin’s hometown to try and get an angle so he could attack Babin and overcome his own residency problem. Streusand has never held elective office so just like our current President, he decided his lack of experience left him beyond criticism and in a position in his mind to attack without repercussion.

Several areas of attack have already surfaced as Streusand’s political team is calling people and push polling. Push polling is a method that usually uses a boiler room type set up of paid callers that pretend they are taking a poll on a political race. The “push” part comes in when the pollster starts to give “information” to the voter that would tend to make most people vote for their candidate.

Streusand’s people have touted some of their endorsements in their push polling and of course left out that Babin has just as many or more conservative endorsements. They have also distorted Babin voting record. They are attempting to discredit Babin and in doing so they think the voter will then think Streusand was right, there is no capable candidate here in CD 36. An example of their distortion is leaving out the fact the state had mandate with Robin Hood when Babin was elected to the school board. Streusand tries to trick voters into believing Babin voted for a sizable tax hike for Woodville ISD when he, in fact, knows that was the time of the Robin Hood plan.

Streusand leaves out a lot of details when he says Babin was a tax and spender as a city councilman. His Clinton-like opposition research had to go back thirty years to city council records to argue this.  While it is true a much younger Brian Babin in his first few days as a councilman voted to fund sewage hookups for people finished with their construction. The maxed out sewage system was paid for by a one cent raise in taxes. But what Streusand leaves out is that no one voted against allowing people to have commodes to flush and water for their bath tubs and washing machines. Streusand leaves out the fact Babin did what voters wanted him to do and he won elections easily. Streusand fails to point out these decisions were without objection.

Not having ever been elected, Streusand is attacking a candidate in every way he can and he is using his connections in Harris County to twist some arms and use sources outside the district to influence endorsements inside the district. While it is true politics is not a place for sissies to tread. It is also true elective offices that are filled with people who have no experience and reinvent their opponent to look like something they aren’t often end up with Obama like results. People who talk us to death while their nose is pointed slightly toward the clouds as they sit in seat they feel they deserve because of who they are and who they know. Streusand may can bury Babin by using money to phone us to death and fill our mailboxes to capacity and even interrupt our favorite t.v. show, but those who know Babin know he is the kind of person who could run and win in any district.

But he is also the kind of person that has enough integrity to only place his name on a ballot where he lives, regardless of loopholes in election law.

HITLER A BIGGER IGNORAMUS THAN WE ALREADY THOUGHT

Present day evidence seems to indicate Adolf Hitler "unwittingly" married a Jewish woman when he wed his mistress, Eva Braun, hours before committing suicide in 1945.  Hitler is responsible for the death of over six million Jews and for spreading hatred and violent prejudice against the race of people that Jesus Christ came from.

Braun is the focus of  Great Britain's Channel 4 documentary titled "Dead Famous DNA," in which DNA from the relics of famous historical figures is extracted and analyzed to help solve mysteries associated with them. A DNA analysis was conducted on hair samples from a brush monogrammed "E.B." that was found at the end of World War II at Hitler's Alpine residence by an American intelligence officer. The brush allegedly belonged to Braun and DNA analysis purportedly showed it "contained the hair of someone who could have had Jewish ancestry," specifically Ashkenazi Jew ancestry, according to Channel 4.

We can not say, but Hitler may have received news of this revelation upon his arrival in Hell and perhaps it adds to his daily torment. All those people who are misguided enough to emulate Hitler, and believe it or not there are some, should learn from one more example of his pitiful life.
